For clients and contractors, we prepare detailed bills of quantities (BoQ) for any type of commercial or residential construction.
Our bills are structured with clarity, precision and full measurability to support accurate pricing and transparent tender comparisons. Every item is measured from the drawings and described so that two different builders reading it arrive at the same understanding of what is being asked for.
This level of detail helps minimise risk, avoid omissions and ensure all parties are working from the same consistent information. It also gives you a document that keeps earning its keep after tender — for valuations, for variations, and for final account.
If you have been sent a bill to price and want to know what each column is telling you, we have written a guide to how to read a bill of quantities, including where provisional sums and net measurement most often catch contractors out.
Measurability matters again after the contract is signed. Because most standard forms value changes from the rates in your bill, a transparent build-up is what lets you argue a variation properly — see how to price construction variations.
What you receive
- A fully measured bill covering every trade in the works
- Item descriptions written to a recognised measurement standard
- Preliminaries measured and priced alongside the measured work
- Provisional sums and prime cost items identified separately
- An editable file, so the bill can be repriced as the design moves
BoQ or Schedule of Works?
A typical BoQ for a large project can exceed 100 pages. If that is more detail than your project warrants, our Schedule of Works condenses the same information into an outline document of roughly 2–6 pages. The BoQ is the right choice when you need line-by-line measurability for valuation and variation control.
